Stret Fighter 4:Arcade Edition mini-review.

Action is what makes a mans adrenaline burst. And yes finally after sometime, i finally bought a good fight thing game. And it is called street fighter 4:Arcade Edition, and of course this is about my first hand mini-review. The game is a fast pased action game, thus players have to have their own set of game winning combos. And be able to anticipate the opponents moves at the same time. When i try my hand on the gameplay, it feels like that my brain functions faster than what my dexterious hands can provide. And thus i often miss out on my combos and super combos(super combos are often the most powerful moves than a player can unleash with the cost of one revenge bar).

The game on animation and delivery point of view is fantastic. And on the pc version, we have additional options to to increase the visual presentation (that is if your pc hardware can be able to handle the changes). The sound presentation is well done,If you are in the fighthing arena the upbeat sounds are use and therefore boost your sense of urgency.The menu sounds are quite well tought of. The new gameplay balances in the arcade edition is well balanced and not to overpowering for a beginner like me. The pc version shows a lot of promise but during the initial release date, there had been a lot of bug like the keyboard is not function properly and my game controller is not being recognized. But of course it doesnt stop a me from finding a temporary solution and thus i will be able to enjoy the game.

In war the most effective selection of unit is essential to win tactically. And i want to disscuss my favorite fighter which is juri. Her flexibility in delivering the combos is quite good since i like the variying degree of custom combo although her move sets is a far cry when compared to ibuki but non the less the character of of juri is quite attractive at the best. But she takes some time to lear how to properly maneuver , in event that i want to win easily, i always try to play easy to manage character like ken(hahaha).

Overall i would rate the game 8 out of 10 stars. I would give it a higher rating if on the release day it have no core package problems.

A Blast in the Present...

It has been a while since the last time i have posted something here. OMG its been 3 years, this place has been filled with cobwebs and its time for a little spring cleaning.

The past 3 years has been like a roller coaster ride, you will never know what to expect next. That is the beauty of life, whereby adaptation is the key to survive. That reminds me of the scientific term called "natural selection" where the organism has to evolve to surpass the stress of time. Life is indeed stressful that will make any man wimp out of his fortitude. In a short time, a lot of things has changed. New technologies are created or improved, new frontiers have been unraveled and new breakthroughs has been discovered. Well not all things have adjusted their parameters even in the past 3 years and it is too much for this tiny blog space to elaborate and discuss. Will post on that matter separately if i got the will power to do so("time for my secret energy booster soon right professor").

Its time to re-light the flame that has been long gone and hopefully do more blog posting. More to come in the not so distant future, where i will invade and take over this blog space once more bwahaha. In the mean time here is a little photo i have found amusing.

After watching some amazing crash scenes, I suddenly had a bright idea (well actually its an idiotic idea).Well according to the Newtonian law: To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, i have assumed several possible outcome of a crash.

a. if both mass, velocity and point of impact of a colliding vehicles, therefore force that acts upon it will bring them at a complete stop since all factors are equal (unless of course if the passengers will have a effect on the outcome)

b. if the object is going to hit a stationary object, the force applied by the moving object must be equivalent or less than the force that the stationary object can accept so that it will not break through. But if it does break through that means in order to pull the object back out, the force applied in pulling it out should be greater than the resultant force applied by the object?

c. have you ever wonder why eating a candy bar will make you work out more. less energy to consume is not equal to the amount of work you are going to do after to burn it. therefore newtonian law does not agree to this.

oh well and there you have my 2 cents worth of stupidity.(^_^)

Test drive

Today i have tried and use the rbk shoes that i just bought. The shoes have a good performance when i used it to play my favorite sport which is basketball. Even though nothing can be compared when playing with the specialized basketball shoe. this shoe can hold on to its own. It is also quite ok when used in a gym. But i still need to fully test it on to a rough terrain to see whether this shoe can withstand the test of endurance. Well i expect it cannot last for too long since the upper subsection of the sole is thin and might easily break. I will personally see if this is correct ones i go out and play with it.

The hunt for a shoe

What a perfect sunny day and i am already up to go seek for a new shoe. My ageing old shoe has done its best to take the abuse of mother nature. But sadly it is time to part ways with my old buddy (partly because i sprain my ankle while running on nature park which suggest that the shoe is at its limit of protection) oh the memories. Now im in a search for a good replacement shoe that can take the all the abuses that i give to it without burning a hole on my pocket. First stop I look around the store which i purchased this shoe, well it is an addidas running shoe btw. After looking around i noticed that the shoe design 2 years ago is still incorporated to the new designs this year, of course there is a few tweaks here and there.

I look around to other shops and found a nice pair of puma which have the spider web technology or so what they call it. It is nice looking piece of shoe but the price is high than what i am willing to pay. But if i am a hardcore runner ill probably buy it.

After an hour or so of searching, i have stumbled across a pair of cross trainer shoes which fits right into my target. Although the big difference between a trainer and a running shoe is the cushioning. Long distance running would most likely benefit from cushioning and of the track running( which i usually love to do). After considering the pros and the cons. I give the rbk shoes a try and see whether it can deliver the expectations that i set for it.

Back in the Loop

Finally after two weeks of job hunting, i finally been able to land a job. Hurrah! From the start i set some objectives and tried to experiment on this process of applying for a job.

Here is the list of my theory and outcome of the job hunting experiments:
1. I assumed that my job interview invitation success rate would be 1:10. The outcome that i acquired is at 2:7. I have a better practical outcome than what i theorized since it was based on the actual job market and my personal experience. Even if the ratio dropped below what i expected, I will still continue to work hard in getting a job since i believe in the philosophy to never say die until you dead.

2.Before I attend an interview i device a game plan for it. First I tried to have a laid back attitude and a friendly aura. The second type would be a serious and aggressively attack the interviewer, well not physically of course. The result is quite surprising: the second option works and has been able to make me gain the job. Well it seems that a more serious and intimidating employee wins. Since i also like to interview people, this is a experience learned.

3. I also try to test whether physical appearance counts. I tried out 2 different scenarios, One the geek know it all look and two the cool guy effect. As for the outcome, The know it all look prevails. As expected since i am aiming for a technological job and not PR type job.

Well that concludes my job hunting this year, maybe if i get bored or the job lacks extreme challenges maybe i will try and look for another job and continue on for some experiments.

Well this article about a note book pc shocked me. For the price of $40000, you will get a mac book air complete with 12,000 Swarovski crystals. Well it a luxury item indeed. Performance wise macbook air is a good ultraportable laptop and currently the most innovative invention in laptop technology. But performance wise, a notebook pc with less than the price of the macbook can out perform it(if you research well enough). Fashionistas will like it, but technology geeks will thing twice about spending.

Nude Ex Earbuds

Well i am not that music fanatic but just a casual music lover. I find it essential for me to listen to music when i am doing my usual exercise routine or just strolling around. It helps me keep my mind away from the hustle of the busy environment and let it fly in some fantasy land. LOL.

After several months of using Panasonic RP-HJE50 in ear head phones it is highly imperative that it will break down like the last one that i have bought a year ago. I have noticed that the problem of this kind of device is it all ways break down on one of the earphone specifically the left ear piece. Well i bought the same device because of the good sound re-productivity that it delivers but it suffers from premature breakage.

To replace the old earphone, I have decided to try the Sony Nude Ex MDR EX55SL. Well I spend some time just to look at other brands of earphone and different types of it. After several hours of comparing and looking for the specs, i finally decided to give in to buying it.

My first impression is that this device can deliver the sound reproduction that i am hoping to hear. It has a very good snug fit to my ears. The stereo and bass reproduction is quite amazing it feels as if i am using a 30mm head phones.Overall, the sound is clear and sharp, and basically balanced. The only weakness is a slight peak in the mid highs. As for the background noise cancellation, this device can deliver even if you use a low volume sound setting. I am not fond of using high volume of sound because it can potentially damage your ear( i always notice several people using their earphone set at a very high volume even a guy 5 m radius can hear what he is listening to).

The only difference between the sony and the panasonic is the bass driver size which is 9mm for sony and 11.5mm for panasonic. The bass production in panasonic exceeds that of sony. But for the lower price of sony around $10 difference, it is a great buy.

So what is great about christmas? The food? hmmmm. perhaps the atmosphere? hmm.. Or the people who you celebrate it with?. All that i can tell is that everything plays a part for it to magically happen. (hmmm where is the magic anyways?). Christmas is a time for sharing and giving, and all those greedy boys and girls will always wait for something to happen. (hope that santa is not lost or is he having his own jolly and merry holiday break.) Anyways enjoying christmas with family and friends is quite fun and at the same time repetitive. So thats why some time it is ok to be alone and have fun by yourself. (woo hoo more sushi for my greedy stomach).

“Every move the opposition makes, there is an underlying weakness and strength”

This phrase is my concluding remark on what happened during my previous inter unit chess tournament where brawn meets brain. The tournament has left me with a bitter yet sweet learning experience. It all started with 16 people and ended up with one victor. My preparation during before the contest have started has paid off, the result is a no loss winning streak up to the finals where I faced the toughest opponent in the tournament. My strategy is to play black and try to parry my opponents move. In chess center dominance is a must therefore every player tries to occupy this pristine location with their zealous forces. My battle strategy is to use Sicilian defence and try to gain an exchange in the center. My hope of fortify the center location was foiled when he do his opening move of f2-f4, which is indirectly attacking the center and thus controlling it. As the first game progress I encountered several weaknesses on my part and boom before I know it my location is overrun by his forward marching troops. Therefore in an instant I lost the first round.

The second round is the most taxing of all. Like what people say you learn from your mistakes and so I did. I still continue the same opening but to counter his I moved d7-d5 which tries to take the center e4 by force. As the game progressed I also made a fatal mistake of not prioritizing the king safety by placing it to a castle therefore my location is again jeopardized. The exchanges left me with 1 bishop, 1 rook, 2 knights and down by 5 pawns. His superior troops include 2 rooks, 1 bishop, 1 knight and 7 pawns. And this is where I really try to see every inch of his move, to determine where weak point is. The game overturned dramatically, the reason is either he is overconfident or the proper positioning of my force. I cannot deny the fact the most of my pieces have the greatest mobility than his since I was able to hold on to the center using my 2 knights and thus fishing a fork after an error committed by him. A blunder is paid in causalities thus I earned my first win.

The third round is a do or die situation where the winner brings home the bacon. I have averted from using the same defence by instead I use the center opening. And at a point in time where I spotted his fault, I quickly change from defence to offence therefore pining his queen and king with my unstoppable black bishop along the g1 diagonal, and he resigned thereafter. This earned me the right to be called the champion. And at the end of the day my prize is a one day off from work he he.
